  Job title: Associate Consultant – Data Management
Summary     
     Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time), responsible for improving data quality across the department by implementing and maintaining an institutional data governance structure and data quality methodology. Helps establish policies, standards and processes that will be developed and maintained to support the data governance function.  Consults on data quality improvements across the department. Advocates for the adoption of rigorous data quality management.

Major
Duties    1. Develops tools and processes used to maintain a common data standard across the department.
 
2. Assesses, manages, and maintains strategies that reduce data redundancy and increase the consistency and confidence of data used for decision making, improving knowledge department-wide.

3. Defines and delivers data management standards, processes, controls and content for the definition and maintenance of logical data models and data mapping.
 
4. Participates in periodic reviews to ensure continued compliance with data governance policies (includes compliance assessments, monitoring and control testing).
 
5. Resolves conflicting priorities among data owners, data consumers, data architects and custodians within the data domain.
 
6. Collaborates with partners across the organization in maintaining data governance and data quality structures, ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality, risk and cost.
 
7. Serves as a key subject matter expert and mentor to more junior level employees.
 
8. Is technically sound in certain areas of specialization within Data Management and has familiarity within the other areas of specialization.
 
9. Delivers work product that rarely requires revision.


Knowledge/
Skills    - Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and Enterprise Data Management concepts.
 
- Technical experience implementing Data Governance and Data Quality processes and procedures is required.

- Understands and is capable of effectively communicating the role of Data Governance to both business and technical communities.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
 
- In-depth Functional Services industry domain knowledge is required.
 
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
 
- Technical skills and practical experience using data management applications (e.g. Infosphere, Informatica, Collibra, Talend, Alteryx, SQL, Python and PowerBI) is required.

 

Experience
Required    A College or University degree and/or relevant work experience is required.
5 - 8 years relevant domain experience in the Financial Services industry.
