ROLE

The Consultant will develop, sustain, and enhance relationships with Investment Managers by coordinating and leading efforts to improve electronic communication and STP rates, develop and install product offerings, and share industry knowledge in a consultative, progressive manner.

The candidate will work closely with Investment Managers in the UK and overseas. Working as a member of the Client Delivery Solutions team, you will be tasked with building deeper relationships that add measureable operational benefits to NT and the IM’s.  Given the variety of tasks and exposure to multiple internal and external partners, you will strengthen your presentation, project management, training and relationship management skills.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and work well as an individual contributor and in a team setting.  The individual will act as a senior contact at Northern Trust for both external and internal relationships.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•       Act in a consultancy nature to Investment Managers
•       Provide exceptional client service to IM’s by identifying
operational improvements and driving key projects and initiatives
•       Remain aware of industry issues and trends and share knowledge
effectively and timely
•       Provide support and training for IM’s utilizing Northern Trust
reporting products
•       Work seamlessly with NT relationship managers; actively
participate in RM events and functions
•       Perform daily administrative functions, portfolio maintenance
and query resolution together with control and audit functions
•       Understand IM’s current working environment and act in an
advisory capacity to promote automation and risk reduction
•       Provide timely feedback to Product areas to aid future
development
•       Participate in IM management meetings and presentations relating
to their on-line reporting requirements, and product and business updates
•       Perform user acceptance testing of new products
•       Support roll out of new products (eg. New Passport applications,
new SWIFT reporting capabilities)
•       Represent NT in industry and investment manager working
sessions,  roundtables and forums
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

•       Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
•       Extensive knowledge of NT’s history, capability, and business
focus
•       Ability to manage expectations, meet deadlines, and communicate
with IM’s and internal parties
•       Strong written and verbal skills
•       Time management and prioritization skills
•       Knowledge of the securities industry gained in either a global
custody or IM environment
•       Strong project management skills and proven track record
•       Demonstrated experience in problem solving in fast-paced
environment
•       Experience in user acceptance testing desirable
•       P.C. knowledge, with experience in P.C. based applications (MS
Office)
Minimum educational requirement for external applicants of 5 A-C grades at GCSE, including Math and English Language (or equivalent)
