Summary

This role is responsible for managing the P&L process for one or more client trading desks within our Hedge Fund Services Function.  You will be able to work independently most of the time under general supervision. The Product Control function within HFS is responsible for valuation, daily and monthly P&L reporting, end of month pricing substantiation and end of day positional risk reporting.

 

What you will do

  1. Manages the daily P&L process and end of day positional risk reporting for one or more client trading desks.
  2. Responsible for the daily review of Quality Control checks. Review booking of corporate actions related to dividends / coupons/ interest and ops booking to ensure it reflects the position properly
  3. Works with offshore Product Control Team (India) on quality control process.
  4. Delivers final daily (and month-end) P&L statement to the client.
  5. Works with client(s) on P&L differences/inquiries.
  6. Prepares and manages the monthly (or more frequently as required) price verification process and associated valuation reporting.
  7. Assist in the on-boarding process for new clients.
  8. Maintain the valuation policy of each financial type for one or more clients that is used to govern the daily and month-end pricing process.
  9. Carries out ad-hoc and complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
  10. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and work with internal partners within HFS on client(s) issues.
  11. Provide guidance to other more junior level employees.


Your Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • In-depth Functional / Product / Industry Knowledge is required
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge is required
  • A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred. Related Industry qualification (e.g. CPA) is preferred
