Digital Content Strategist/Manager

The Content Strategist will work alongside our Product Managers as a dedicated problem-solver to leverage information, agile principles and human insights to reimagine how we interact as an enterprise and business. 


 Northern Trust’s Digital Workplace Product Team is looking for a Content Strategist to join the team.


Responsibilities:

• The Content Strategist will work closely with stakeholders globally to define the content strategy and requirements for products

• Be an expert and trusted advisor on all things related to content

• Identifies opportunities to improve the user journeys across multiple content channels and ensure consistent and effective content across internal and external channels

 Partners closely with Product and Analytics teams to conduct quantitative experiments and qualitative user studies to create the most effective content for users

• Works to create a search experience that intelligently guides users according to their needs, and flexes to support current and future business needs

• Helps to build systems that allow us to surface personalized, contextual content to our users

• Leads content strategy for search experience

• Creates content standards to ensure consistency across the search and platform experience(s)

 Helps shape the strategic vision and goals for the Search and Content teams

• Partners with product leadership to shape product strategy for product areas and influence strategic decisions

• Is accountable for content quality across the entire search experience, including that of other content strategists

• Partners closely with design, research, and other cross-functional leaders to foster a collaborative culture and drive consensus across the team

• Works with legal and localization teams to simplify complex concepts for a global audience •

 Develops content frameworks, product narratives, and other deliverables that explain recommendations and help people understand the practice of content strategy

• Promotes content strategy throughout the company and within the broader design and content communities

• Develops processes and templates to help content strategists work more efficiently Skills to be successful:

• Proactive, self-starter and strong initiative

• Ability to navigate complex subject matter and large enterprise needs/requirements

• Strong agile product management experience including set vision, establish a roadmap, set goals, write stories, minimum viable product (MVP) and execute/deliver

• Strong analytical skills, interpersonal, collaboration, communication, presentation, negotiation, influence and problem-solving skills

• Effectively lead or collaborate with cross-functional resources to manage and resolve interdependencies

• Excellent oral and written communication skills; proven track record of successfully briefing all levels of an organization

• Strong managerial skills

• Good recall and be detail-oriented and highly accurate

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, changing environment

 Must be able to use and show sound judgment and have the ability to work independently in the execution of daily tasks

• Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects

• Must be able to carry out verbal and/or written instructions

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• At least 3 years of experience in digital product management

• At least 3 years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into digital products

• At least 3 years of experience in Agile product management

• Experience working on search products

• 5+ years of experience in product content strategy

• Solid understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns

• Experience writing content for web/mobile products and developing style guides required

• Proven ability to collaborate successfully with cross-­functional partners and work in a fast-paced environment
