Responsible for directing and supporting fraud operations function.  Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the division / unit / function. Identifies opportunities for operational efficiencies, formalizes policies, procedures, and program documents. Refines and advances fraud strategy, tactics, tools, and programs

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works with leadership and team to establish fraud strategy. Builds program and documentation to support fraud strategy.
  • Leads efforts in financial analysis of fraud results. Builds and reports fraud metrics. Continually improves fraud through delivering reporting and metrics. Monitors the effectiveness of fraud program. Maintain oversight of policies, practices, and standards.
  • Creates operating procedures to support fraud tactics, such as investigations, fraud assessment, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Leads and participates in fraud governance meetings. Memorializes decisions, tracks and articulates progress in enterprise fraud initiatives.
  • Manages day-to-day operations of the group as well as plans for short and long term projects.
  • Participates in staffing decisions, manages expenses and salary review process for the division.
  • Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication
  • Works with leadership to establish and support a three lines of defense fraud philosophy and model across the enterprise.
  • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of fraud program. Maintain oversight of policies, practices, and standards.

Qualifications/ Skills

 

  • Leadership and strategic thought skills are required to determine the enterprise fraud function’s goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to deliver messages to various audiences. 
  • Significant project management and organizational skills are needed to advance the fraud program.
  • Knowledge of fraud processes, laws, regulations, and legislative and regulatory processes are required. 
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
