The Senior Data Analyst for the Funds and Managed Accounts (FMAG) Business is a key role, serving as the expert and lead architect of the business’s data analysis. This partner will be integral in the Business Intelligence Team, focused on gathering and creating insights from current business results/industry trends and utilizing this intuition to help set the strategy for the business going forward. The team is responsible for the day-to-day collection of data, maintaining data quality, management reporting, and insight delivery. The group is strategic in its approach to provide robust analytics for management decisions, marketing, and front line sales. This person will be expected to drive these analytics, maintain a deep knowledge of the product lineup, industry trends, sales trends, and understanding of the sales process. 

Responsibilities  
  • Work with the business leaders and stakeholders to understand their strategies and determine ways to use analytics to generate improved decision making. 
  • Work across business units, to define and develop analytic capabilities that can be leveraged to solve cross-business unit challenges.  
  • Support the analytical needs of various business units, help them with prioritization to deliver the most value. 
  • Analyze and understand the Funds and Managed Accounts Group’s core business processes and data flows to design and develop enduring solutions that provide analytical insights (both rearview, and predictive). 
  • Ensure good techniques are used to report the data in a representative format and to help the consumer of the data understand what is being stated clearly. 
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of solutions that: Leverage and extend existing Business Intelligence and analytics infrastructure; Take metric governance and enterprise solutions into consideration; Are scalable, repeatable and effective; Follow agreed upon governance and technology policies. 
  • Assist with applying and developing statistical models/methods to address business issues. 
  • Develop metrics and create ad-hoc reporting as needed. 
  • Assist internal customers with acceptance and adoption of implemented solutions to transition to an operating model that will deliver value from the analytics solution. 
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner. 
  • Rapidly and effectively adapt to a highly dynamic and fast-paced work environment.  
  • Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Foster a positive and collaborative environment.  
  • Carry out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues. 
  • Display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
The Selected Candidate Will Benefit From Having: 
  • BS; ideally in Business, Computer Science, or STEM. 
  • Five years or more of experience as a business, equity and/or financial analyst. 
  • Ability to function well in a team. 
  • Self-motivation and drive, with the desire for a steep learning curve in a creative and entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Solid organization navigation skills, preferably Financial/Banking industry background. 
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and ability to learn new concepts quickly and, complete multiple and diverse assignments with the highest level of quality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.  
  • In-depth functional / industry knowledge is required. 
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change. 
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data for analytical projects and translate that data into sound insights. 
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge is required.  
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff. 
  • Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and functional expertise. 
  • Database systems competence is expected. 
  • Familiarity with data analysis and/or reporting.  
  • Strong mathematical skills required. 
  • Strong data and analytical skills. 
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to work across the business.  
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Strong team / relationship building skills. 
  • Familiarity and expertise with analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite, QlikView, Informatica, Excel and SQL) preferred. 
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts, querying, data warehouses, requirements gathering and/or decision support tools preferred.  
  • Prior experience using statistical software or knowledge of various data mining and analytical tools (SSRS, SAS, etc.) preferred.  
  • Experience in data architecture and data migration. 
  • Experience in implementing advanced formulas and workflow rules to enforce business processes. 
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of leading edge technologies and plans for integration of new technologies.
