Based in Manila, Northern Trust Philippines provides fund administration and operations support to Northern Trust offices in EMEA, North America and APAC and forms a vital part of Northern Trust’s global presence.

    

The Client Transitions and Account Services team in Manila consists of 68+ partners across multiple teams.

 

The team works closely with our Northern Trust offices around the world to service client accounts as well as liaise with sub custodians across different global markets,

      

•Key role in the C&IS Manila leadership team

 

•Reports to the Deputy Head of C&IS Operations

 

•Responsible for a team of 68+ partners and for the ongoing delivery of services to our Northern Trust offices

 

Principal Responsibilities 

 

•Operational delivery

 

◦Ensure C&IS Manila meets its operational obligations to Northern Trust offices in APAC and EMEA and to our clients in terms of accuracy, timely delivery and service excellence

 

◦Ensure appropriate processes are in place, are documented and are adhered to

 

◦Guide staff in the resolution of non-routine and complex issues

 

◦Has a strong understanding of the processes undertaken in the team and of the industry within which the team operates

 

◦Be responsible, visible and accessible to our colleagues in the Northern Trust offices we are supporting

 

◦Responsible for the development and execution of the team’s strategic plans, goals and priorities and ensuring they are consistent with those of the wider C&IS business

 

◦Participate in cross-jurisdictional initiatives to implement best practices and improve the performance of the operation

 

•Management/Leadership

 

◦Foster an environment which encourages ownership, excellence, employee engagement, teamwork and communication

 

◦Identify training and development needs and guide partners in their career development

 

◦Manage human resource and capacity planning

 

◦Produce management reporting for operational activities which focuses on people, processes, initiatives and delivery

 

◦Build strong and effective relationships with our colleagues in the offices we support to identify solutions to meet client needs or appropriate actions to address client issues

 

 

•Control environment

 

◦Maintain a strong risk and control environment capable of withstanding scrutiny from Internal Audit and other client and regulatory due diligence exercises

 

◦Ensure appropriate operating procedures are established and adhered to and which comply with Northern Trusts standards and policies

 

◦Ensure the appropriate focus on data privacy and information security controls

• Proven experience in developing authentic successful stakeholder relationship
• Proven experience in managing and developing large operational teams
• Excellent management and leadership skills with at up to 20 years’ experience
• Experience of operating within a heavily regulated environment
• Process analysis/improvement experience will be advantageous
• Experience in Custodial Transitions and Account Services advantageous
• Understanding and experience with global markets working with sub custodians is preferred
• Analytical, possesses critical thinking
• Ability to roll up sleeves and dig deep into operations is a requirement


Qualifications


• Proven experience in developing authentic successful stakeholder relationship
