Team Description
The Knowledge Management team is responsible for creating and maintaining the security master (Examples: ETFs, Options, Futures, Common Stocks,  Fixed Income products, etc.), utilizing available external data (Bloomberg, Reuters, Fidelity, Exchange, etc), and internally engineered and 3rd party systems, to properly research, validate, and represent a security for global consumption. This support also includes researching and validating Global Mandatory Corporate Action events in the marketplace and fully understanding the impact that those might have at Security Master Level (Option Adjustments, Future Updates, Credit Baskets Roll/Succession/Bankruptcy, etc).


Duties and Responsibilities
• Interface with our Data Vendor Providers regarding security master data, classifications, overrides, linkage to be built at underlying, Issuer level etc.
• Make independent judgments (based upon market/instruments practices) regarding appropriate resolutions for security master data discrepancies
• Work with shared office teams and FO desks to ensure proper impact for Security Master Attributes update
• Interact with participants and groups to overview initiatives and special announcements
• Interface with our Data Vendor Providers regarding corporate action announcements, security re-classifications, and analysis of impact on prices and position sizes
• Provide input/modify procedures and control in order to prevent/reduce breaks/risks and contribute to projects via special testing process and activities related to restructuring of our SM/CA database
• Define and work on projects related to mass data acquisition, cleansing and uploading.  Communicate with the Back Office, IT and other KM personnel to achieve project objectives.
• Assist in building international and domestic proprietary databases related to securities information gathered through research and analysis of securities data
• Make independent/educated judgments regarding appropriate resolutions of data anomalies and modeling

Qualifications                                                       
• Excellent analytic skills as well as exemplary written and verbal communication skills
• General knowledge of the financial markets and functional knowledge of a wide range of asset classes. 
• Detail-oriented with the high degree of accuracy and a strong work ethic
• Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook) computer applications. Basic IT skills (database queries, file manipulation) etc.
• Preferable Experience: XSP, Bloomberg products, Reuters, Fidelity or other market data providers
• 1 or 2 years’ experience in financial services

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or above
• Pursuing a Master’s degree preferred but not required
