Job Summary:

The Wealth Strategist seeks high net worth individuals, families, corporate executives, and successful business owners to become clients of Northern Trust by introducing Northern Trust’s highly personalized, intelligent wealth management and financial advisory solutions. The Wealth Strategist finds new clients primarily via personal contacts with high net worth individuals, their advisors and community organizations. The Wealth Strategist seeks to help Northern Trust grow its business by finding new clients whose wealth circumstances will be well served by Northern Trust’s unique value proposition in wealth advisory and planning, (including solutions that bridge business and personal goals), trust administration, investment management, brokerage and banking. The Wealth Strategist is assigned annual production goals and ranked against a peer group. Sales results will be based on consultative selling techniques, delivering value to the client that is aligned with client goals.
The Wealth Strategist seeks prospective clients to deliver proprietary Life Driven Wealth Management solutions and associated services in calling presentations; the Wealth Strategist follows through to produce new relationships for the organization, often in partnership with a team of expert advisors, inside and outside of the company. The Wealth Strategist selectively maintains ongoing contact with clients and promotes relationship enhancement opportunities through the client’s relationship team. The Wealth Strategist utilizes an understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure that his/ her financial planning activities are compliant. 

Major Duties:

1. Utilize business and personal centers of influence to source and close prospective clients independently, and with Northern Trust teams of experts. 
2. Partner and collaborate with relationships managers, leadership, and other Wealth Strategists. Successfully integrate into the Northern Trust team based culture, sharing success and acting with care toward clients, external professionals, Northern Trust partners, and the community at large.
3. Represent Northern Trust at all company sponsored events; entertain frequently and appropriately; participate in marketing efforts; reinforce and protect the Northern Trust brand in the community
4. Assume responsibility for confidentiality of complex and sensitive client and account activities
5. Research and build prospective client’s financial picture to maximize  Northern Trust’s opportunity to deliver advice, products and services

6.Consult with clients and attorneys to provide wealth solutions covering a variety of wealth issues including estate planning products and services, comprehensive business and personal asset titling and situs: wealth transfer and income tax positioning: charitable strategies and goals driven investing.

7. Record activity and detailed call reports related to opportunities, meetings and pipeline management

 8. Will lead and facilitate the on-boarding process for clients collaborating with portfolio managers, trust professionals and bankers to ensure client's needs and expectations are met.

 


 

Qualifications:

 Candidates should have a minimum 7+ years of successful sales experience preferably in wealth management. Knowledge of fiduciary products and services (e.g. personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, security custody, financial consulting, estate planning), including fee structures and documentation, acquired through work experience is required to respond to the issues that arise during sales calls. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that apply to personal fiduciary, and estate and tax planning services acquired through formal education and work experience is required to consult with clients. Analytical and sales skills are required to relate individual customer asset situations to specific products. Interactive skills are required to comprehend prospect needs and respond with the appropriate solutions.

 Credentials:  Securities licenses required. Professional designations such as MBA, CFP, CFTA, CPWA, CFA, JD, Series7, 63, 66, CIMA are  strongly preferred.
