WHO YOU ARE

As a Principal Solutions Architect

you are responsible for developing solutions across Northern Trust’s client-facing online banking applications across multiple channels.

You have passion and technical expertise that allows you to work on both a strategic and tactical level and application development projects.

Furthermore,

you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of full stack technologies e.g. Microservices, ReactJS & Kafka

• Knowledge of test & event driven design

• Strong understanding of architecture patterns, SaaS, IaaS, AWS, Private & Public Cloud models • Extensive knowledge of the Java Platform, Enterprise API & Java programming experience

• Initiative, the ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

• Experience in designing and building database and web-based applications

• Presentation and communication skills for both technical and business audiences

• Experience working with stakeholders to identify requirements and how they fit into the broader enterprise context

• Knowledge of Scrum/Agile development methodology and experience with UML diagrams Our tech stack: Spring Boot Microservices / Java Hibernate/ ORM / ReactJS / Kafka / JMS / Junit / Oracle / DataStage / Pivotal Cloud Foundry / Salesforce / APEX

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a partner on the Digital Services team, you will be an integral part of one of our nimble and agile cross-functional teams innovating an entire industry. We are actively exploring emerging technologies in AI, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Blockchain and Decentralized Finance to elevate dozens of products and services which millions of customers use.

As a Principal Solutions Architect,

you will:

• Be involved in the full software development lifecycle and design, code, implement, and test new features/modules

• Work collaboratively with other Developers, Architects and Testing teams to enhance the current product and fix defects

• Partner with the business on requirements for product enhancements and conduct system analysis and design

• Create high-level solution architecture and review of detailed technical design documents

• Continuously look for ways to improve the applications’ stability, scalability, maintainability and user experience

• Ensure proper coding standards/practices are followed

• Act as the technical consultant on project development/production health, new techniques and the implementation of new processes

• Conduct feasibility studies for complex data processing projects and new technologies
