Quantitative Investment Analyst
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing index data disseminated to the market. Provides oversight of the construction of indices, using quantitatively derived inputs, to ensure constituents are in tolerance with stated objectives and risk exposures.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of investments and the financial markets, usually acquired by formal education or related work experience, is required to analyze data and make investment recommendations. Knowledge of financial analysis, specifically Quantitative Analysis, statistics and accounting, usually acquired through formal education, is required to analyze and interpret investment data. Analytical and personal computer skills are needed to prepare analysis and reports.
Major Duties
- Oversees the construction of equity and fixed income index strategies utilized by Portfolio Management.
- Reviews, edits, and optimizes existing code base to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Supports the team by trouble-shooting time-sensitive, complex, client queries.
- Participates in Quantitative Strategies Group projects as required. Projects may include efforts to improve and expand our index offerings by working collaboratively with our Quantitative Research Group, and/or developing & and improving our internal technology and processing capabilities, as well as gathering research for ad-hoc reporting or clients.
- Monitors developments and new industry trends in indexing, as well as factor-based investment research.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant experience, or an MBA/Master’s degree with concentrations in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent required
- Experience with relational databases, Python, R, SAS, SQL, Tableau, or version control software preferred
- Prior experience with quantitative research, index/portfolio construction, or portfolio optimization applications preferred
