Position Description:
The Vulnerability Management team under Information Security Technology is looking for an Application Security Developer.  Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time), this position would be responsible for designing, coding, testing and debugging the applications used by the Vulnerability Management team.  Requires interaction with the rest of the vulnerability team to determine automation needs and provide any ongoing support.  Strong problem solving skills and willingness to work independently and collaborate with other developers to solve complex programming issues is needed for this position.

Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with vulnerability team and other security technology Partners to determine business automation needs 
2. Provides security technology partners with ongoing system guidance; acts as a troubleshooter 
3. Reviews and analyzes existing system enhancements and recommends modifications as needed 
4. Prepares materials and manuals and provides training to both onshore and offshore partners.
5. Attends daily standup and provides status of ongoing work to the rest of the team. 
6. Directs and performs prototyped systems development and solutions. 
7. Provides project support and project planning; develops test plans and user acceptance criteria 
8. Communicates with various technology areas and outside vendors, consultants, and clients regarding automation needs. 
9. Develops or maintains computer programs including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and installation as needed
10. More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas
11. Delivers a work product that requires less revision
12.  Prefer Python, Java and REST API skills
13. Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions
14. Adhoc tasks and projects as required

Qualifications/Experience:
A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience in programming, systems analysis and business system design experience is preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Functional / Industry Knowledge such as programming, debugging and testing systems to maintain computer programs is required
Analytical and problem solving skills for troubleshooting are required
1-2 years of professional IT experience

Nice to Haves:
Familiarity with vulnerability management security tools (ie Qualys, Tenable, Nessus etc)  
Familiarity with issue/ticket tracking systems (ie Jira, ServiceNow, etc)
Familiarity with secure software development life cycle
Industry certifications (ie GIAC, ComTIA, etc)
