Sr. Analyst, Balance Sheet Modeling and Analytics
Treasury’s Global Liquidity and Balance Sheet Modeling team is responsible for the measurement, coordination and oversight of the Corporation’s global liquidity position, including daily LCR, stress testing /contingent liquidity plans, resolution strategic liquidity analyses, intraday liquidity framework and the development and deployment of quantitative modeling approaches of balance sheet products to support the Corporation’s Interest Rate Risk measurement and profitability processes.
The team plays a critical role in performing liquidity & balance sheet modeling, data validation, reconciliation, scenario analysis and reporting of the firm’s Liquidity & Structural Interest Rate risks. The team is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information in support of the firm’s internal and regulatory Liquidity Risk and Interest Rate Risk reporting and analytics. The team also partners with a wide range of stakeholders across the firm in reconciliation of balances to the general ledger, strategic sourcing, and automation of feeds from various source systems into the central finance/treasury platforms, ensuring data quality controls in upstream sources & aggregation platforms.
The candidate will support Balance Sheet Analytics, Balance Sheet Strategy, Machine Learning, QRM/MR data reconciliation that feeds the ALM valuation engine; support the implementation of a Data Integration/Data Warehouse/Cloud for the Global Liquidity and Balance Sheet Modeling Team. Support the execution of Balance Sheet Optimization – in compilation and analysis of product profitability with capital, liquidity, and funding constraints
- Support the Balance Sheet Modeling/ALM modeling in accordance with Policy. Help prepare monthly treasury data entries and reconciliations
- Develop necessary interest rate, liquidity risk and treasury-related reports by creating queries and utilizing database management techniques Develop ad-hoc analysis, as required, in support of the Treasury function (business case analysis, historical interest rate analysis, etc.….)
- Understand the meaning/business context of data. Perform data analysis and data modeling
- Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and feedback
- Acquire data from internal or external data sources and maintain mapping documents of the files, databases/data systems.
- Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to business and other IT teams.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Prepare input data and documents for the Asset Liability Management (ALM) function, including inputs into the model and historical analysis supporting assumptions applied.
- Maintain monthly treasury reporting. Prepare weekly competitive interest rate grids and make approved changes to interest rate sheet
Qualifications:
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science or a related financial field experience, required, you have some of those skills:

- Ability to design and make business presentations. Continuously improve and construct new capabilities around performance metric analysis and reporting
- Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; present findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Solid skills in data mining and data analytics
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
- Experience with Excel, modeling, and data manipulation
- Strong control mindset including ability to identify risks and maintain associated controls
- 2+ years’ work experience preferably within Data Analytics, ALM, Treasury
- Independent and curious learner. Enjoys unpacking complex concepts and processes.
- Experience and comfortability with large data sets. Have strong analytical abilities.
- Good collaborator with solid judgment. Must gain consensus on decisions that often require buy-in across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Tableau and/or SAS, SQL, R, Python or any other programming language is a plus.
- Understanding of various representations of data from Data Landing to Reporting – Landing, Staging, Aggregations, Subject areas, dimensions
- Experience collaborating with Business Process Analysis teams and translating business process flows and activities to data flows and integration with BRDs, Data Dictionaries, Inventory of files, controls and create integrated data flows.
