The Transfer Agency department provides a third party fund administration service to numerous fund management companies covering the full range of shareholder servicing functions including dealing, registration, settlements, distributions, commissions and statements. The Accounting Control team is responsible for daily cash reconciliation, cash movement and exception reporting, as well as other control related activities.  The Team Leader supports the manager and team in ensuring operational efficiency with respect to workflow distribution and ensuring the effective use of staff resources. 
The primary responsibility of this Team Leader role is to supervise and support a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts within the Accounting Control team. The Team Leader reports to the Section Manager and assists with workflow distribution and maximizing the effectiveness of the team. This includes organizing the work of the team, assigning tasks, setting short-term priorities, monitoring all activities and ensuring timely and accurate completion of the work. 
The key responsibilities of the role include: 
1. Oversight of all team functions including investor payments, fee payments and cash reconciliations.
2. Ability to effectively manage a team towards accurate and timely completion of deliverables.
3. Assist team with investigating and resolving inquiries and exceptions.  
4. Effective communication team, management, CSM, various internal departments, and others as required.
5. Organize on the job technical training and provide coaching  for all team members. Brief staff regularly on issues relating to work carried out by the team and new initiatives.
6. Ensure all procedures are kept up to date by team members and are adhered to on a daily basis.
7. Assist the Team Manager in establishing and meeting goals and objectives for the team.
8. Generate process and system enhancement ideas and co-ordinate the introduction of these changes with supporting documented procedures.
9. Conducts performance management and career development discussions and processes.
10. Assesses workflow on a daily/weekly basis, for the proper prioritization of work. Prepares an on-going schedule of assignments, noting deadlines and status. Reassigns staff resources to meet deadlines.
11. Maintains technical knowledge of operations in order to independently resolve unusual and complex problems.
 
Qualifications
 
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
 
A College or University degree and/or relevant work experience is required 
Supervisory experience is desirable 
Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines in extremely time sensitive conditions
Analytical and problem solving skills
Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff
Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines, escalating issues where necessary
Good team player, self-starter, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Excel
