Northern Trust is currently seeking a senior level Workplace Occupancy Planner to support the Workplace Strategy and Planning Team. The team is a part of Workplace Services a global corporate real estate and facilities organization that services Northern Trusts partners globally. The Occupancy Planner will execute on the optimization of real estate assets through workplace and occupancy strategies, and data driven, design-centric solutions that support corporate real estate portfolio management and project execution.

The ideal candidate would be a self–starter, have exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and analytical abilities.  One must have an understanding of forecasting impacts on real estate supply, and an impassioned accountability to meet all client requests on time and in full with a proven ability to motivate client groups to take desired action

Responsibilities:                                            

  • Creates and develops occupancy plans for Business units globally, demonstrating a keen ability to collect information and translate it into a comprehensive real estate plan.
  • Performs complex occupancy and project planning (e.g. analysis, options development, evaluation, recommendations) - with limited guidance
  • Document client meeting information visually, numerically and verbally at an acceptable quality level.
  • Assists with executive level presentations that achieve desired outcomes and client confidence.
  • Provides conflict resolution/negotiation locally with occupants as required.
  •  Maintains an understanding of business units’ growth, contraction and evolutionary needs. Ensures occupancy information is updated and accurate.
  • Manages the move migration for occupancy projects.
  • Capable of leading multiple, demand planning projects for diverse locations.
  •  Able to produce deliverables and supplement as situational needs demand.
  • Develop real estate tactics that support enterprise and/or business initiatives
  • Develop documentation to compare tactical and strategic solutions, identify risks and benefits, and present recommendations for approval
  • Develop current and future occupancy plans and documentation including, stack plans, block plans, test fits/space plans, allocation plans, and move migration plans
  • Solve work order requests for moves, add, changes (MAC)
  • Gather and interpret space and headcount data, and develop reports

Qualifications:

 

  • 2 or more years of experience in the delivery of occupancy planning, project management , strategy or related services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAFM, and IWMS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

 

Skills and competencies:

 

  •  Ability to effectively create,  interpret and apply policy and procedure
  • Ability to process work quickly, accurately, and with changing priorities
  • Basic understanding of corporate real estate and financial concepts
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Distil complex information to the essential for client decision making, with input.
  • bility to complete tasks independently and as part of a team , producing deliverables independently with periodic supervision
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, strong analysis and spreadsheet capabilities.
  • IWMS/CAFM principle understanding.
